<note>Each of these unique invitations to worship focuses on a name of God: Door, Way, Truth, Life, Lord, Redeemer, Rock, Morn-ing Star, and so on. A short Scripture portion and key text identify the setting in which the name is used. Then a con-temporary application is deftly made and a closing praise prayer completes a meaningful meditation.

Short and succinct, thought-provoking and memorable, these praise pieces can provide an appropriate opening for a group meeting. Used as an aid in private worship times, they give words to thoughts and stimulate celebration and adoration of our Lord.

Mary Loeks grew up in Japan, the daughter of missionary parents. After graduation from Wheaton College, she taught on the elementary level for almost four years. Now the parents of three young children, Mary and her husband live in Grand Rapids. She has also written Devotions for Young Mothers, Christmas Activity Book, and Object Lessons for Children's Worship.</note>
