<note>'Dr Foster seems to me to have produced in this book convincing arguments to show that the universe must have been designed by a supernatural Mind, which he calls Logos, and that the emergence and development of life upon this planet cannot possibly have been a matter of sheer chance to the extent that Darwin claimed it was. What is particularly impressive about this is that the conclusions have been reached on purely mathematical and scientific grounds. Dr Foster pretends to no theological or religious predilections. This does not, of course, instantly prove the existence of God. It is not a point at which the theologians simply take over. But it ves scientists and theologians firm ground upon which they can meet and talk with each other.</note>
