The mysterious expression &#34;I am&#34; in the Gospel of John has long fascinated and puzzled readers. Was Jesus equating himself with Yahweh? Philip B. Harner delves into this expression, particularly where it appears without a predicate, as in &#34;before Abraham was, I am.
