The task of christology is twofold: from within the Christian faith, to demonstrate the intrinsic basis and justification for the claim to Jesus' absolute uniqueness; and from without, to demonstrate the relevance of such a claim for the contemporary understanding of reality and truth, particularly in religious terms for the understanding of God's universal salvific will. These are the questions with which this book begins and ends.
