This book identifies six issues or "prophetic questions" that are transfiguring today's church through suffering, hope, and crea-tivity. These include issues of spiritual quest and formation, the pressures and possibilities in contemporary marriages and families, the changing role of women, development of a theology of work, new experiences of lay ministry, and the emergence of basic Christian communities. Each issue is illustrated with true-to-life stories and actual experiences of lay Christians across denomina-tional lines.
