JESUS WAS a master teacher. Often, we are told in Scripture, he gathered a crowd around him "and he told them a story." We can learn from Jesus' method. Children of all ages (including adult church members, who are also "children of the heavenly Father") love to hear good stories.

THIS BOOK provides 52 short stories based on Scripture (mostly letters of the Apostle Paul, and other letter writers in the New Testament). Each story uses a simple teaching object, such as a wrapped gift, a baseball mitt, a candle, a box of cookies, or a cross. The pastor can tell these short stories to the children who come to worship, by gathering them around him, much as Jesus once gathered the children. Or, Sunday church school teachers or assembly leaders can tell these stories during the class time at church. They are also useful for story time in the Christian family.
