Each of the four gospels views Jesus Christ from a dil-ferent vantage point. Matthew views Him as the great king, Mark as an obedient servant, John sees Him as God. And Luke views Jesus Christ as the perfect man.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived on earth for thirty-three years. He proclaimed His messiahship throughout Israel with miracles, signs, and preaching. He cast out demons, ministered to the outcasts of society, and healed thousands. But He referred to Himself most often as the "son of man."

The gospel of Luke views Jesus Christ as a genuine human being. In fact, Luke uses the phrase son of man some twenty-four times in his gospel. He wanted believers to be well-grounded in their faith in Jesus Christ, Son of God and son of man.

Luke's gospel is a historically accurate account of Christ's life and ministry. Over 50 percent of his writing is unique, containing information about Christ's life found nowhere else in the gospels. It is the story of a unique man-the Christ who was completely man, yet is still completely God.
