Jesus' Pattern of Prayer
John MacArthur, Jr.,
Our Lord knew the value of prayer. The Bible seys at times Jesus would rise a great while before dawn and go into the mountain to pray. In the evenings He would walk down the slope of the backside of Jerusalem across the Kidron Brook and ascend the Mount of Olives. There He communed with the Father, sometimes all night long.
So when Christ said in Matthew 6:9, "After this manner. therefore, pray ye," He knew what He was talking about.
Prayer is something we are commanded to do unceasingly. In order that we should pray properly, Jesus offered the pat tern of prayer now known as the Lord's Prayer.
Line by line, Dr. John MacArthur examines the Lord's Prayer, helping us understand its timeless message, its many facets, its amazing scope. Given as a model two thousand years ago, it still stands forth as the perfect pat tern of prayer for us today, worthy of our study and use
