Epistles of John: Introduction, exposition and notes

were written to a group of Asian Christians at the end of the first century A.D. This community of believers was facing a schism caused by a group which was devoted to a new teaching, one which denied that Jesus had come in the flesh. John's letters were written to en-courage these believers, and to assure them that they were indeed following the truth of Christ.

In this verse-by-verse exposition, noted scholar F. F. Bruce examines these three short letters in de-tail to provide a valuable aid for the reader in-terested in serious Bible study.

The temptation to conform the gospel to current fashions of thought is as real today as it was in the time of John. Professor Bruce's study aims at show-ing how we in our generation can learn important practical lessons from John's defense of the gospel in his day.
