DR. GARY W. DEMAREST is pastor of the La Canada Presbyterian Church, a congregation of 1800 members in a suburb of Los Angeles which is known for its creative and innovative ministries. This is his second book. His previous book, Christian Alterna-tives within Marriage, is also published by Word Books. Dr. Demarest helped to found the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and continues to be active in that organization serving on its Board of Directors. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Whitworth College and Fuller Theological Seminary and is an adjunct professor at Fuller. He and his wife Marily have three daughters.
