Songs from a strange land: Psalms 42 - 51

Most of Scripture tells us about God. The Psalms tell God about us-our feelings of rage, of pain, of gratitude, of praise. They express our human concerns and our requests för help. And they teach us how to talk to God.

John Goldingay presents a fresh translation of each psalm, explains its meaning and background and points out how its wisdom applies to contemporary life. The ten psalms deal with our response to God as our helper, comforter, King and Redeemer.

John Goldingay is a lecturer in Old Testament at St. John's College, Nottingham, England. He received the B.A. in theology from Oxford University and has published several books previously.
