JONAH commissioned to take God's message to an enemy people, tried to run so far away that the Lord would leave him alone. When he finally yielded to God's persistence, the prophet shouted out a message of destruction, then pouted when God rewarded repentance with pardon. Used by the Lord to deliver thousands from death, yet resisting the work of God in his own heart, Jonah can teach us much about ourselves.
