An Inclusive-Language Lectionary was a publishing, religious, and linguistic landmark-a giant stride into the understanding of the use and power of contemporary English. Inclusive-language is the attempt to locate the bias inherent in speech and to transform it into language mindful and respectful of the dignity and equality of all persons.

With The Gospels and the Letters of Paul, whole books of the Bible now may be read as though the original authors had the full understanding of contemporary English to convey their timeless messages.
