God of grace, God of glory

GOD OF GRACE GOD GLORY

When the Risen Christ walked with the downcast disciples on the road to Emmaus, he began with Moses and moved to the writings of the prophets in order to help them understand the events they had just experienced. No doubt much of that unforgettable lesson was spent in the writings of Isaiah.

For centuries the writings in this book have been among the most often read and studied by Christians. Too often, however, only a small portion of the wealth contained here has been mined.

God of Grace, God of Glory is an interpretation of the first twelve chapters of Isaiah for today.

"Beginning with the historical background of that day, this work seeks to uncover etemal principles set forth in the prophetic discourses and apply them to contemporary life. Critical problems have been taken into account and, in some places, examined but never as an end in themselves. Any time spent dealing with such matters has been in order to validate the text, clarify the historical background, and thereby illuminate the spiritual message.

"Homiletical outlines have been suggested and illustrative material has been added in order that the message of Isalah may be communicated to our time."
