In Religious Reason, Ronald Green presents an alternative to the major contemporary currents in religious moral theory. Drawing largely on Kant, Green argues that religion is the effort to render moral commitment rationally intelligible. His lucid, convincing demonstration of the `Religion of Reason' is then applied in the analysis and comparison of four historical religions: Judaism, Christianiy, Hinduism, and Buddhism, showing that behind their diverse historical traditions lies a common rational structure which establishes the essential link between religion and morality.
