<note>Evangelicals must creatively bring their doctrine of biblical inerrancy to bear on new theological ques-tions and hermeneutical constructions. This con-viction, embraced by the fourteen contributors to Inerrancy and Hermeneutic, finds eloquent expression in their essays.

Especially during the last ten years, the contributors, all teachers at Westminster Theological Seminary, have dedi-cated themselves to exploring "those emerging disciplines of research linked to hermeneutical theory," writes the editor. "[Their] concern over issues relating to the full trustworthiness of Scripture has not diminished; it has just taken them into new ave-nues of research."

In Inerrancy and Hermeneutic Westminster professors sum-marize the results of their research in language that semi-narians and nonspecialists can grasp. The result is an exciting volume that stands in the tradition of other books from Westminster faculty on the doctrine of Scripture: The Infallible Word [1946] and Scripture and Confession (1973).

Harvie M. Conn is professor of missions at Westminster, where he has taught since 1972 after twelve years as a mis-sionary to Korea. In addition to three books in Korean, he has written or edited nine books, including Eternal Word and Changing Worlds: Theology, Anthropology and Mission in Trialogue.</note>
