The author is Vice President for Academic Affairs at Biola College, Inc. He also has Emeritus status as Dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Professor of Chemistry at California State University, Dominguez Hills, in which positions he served actively for sixteen years. Prior to that, he was a member of the faculty in the Chemistry Department at Indiana University for fifteen years. He holds a B.S. degree from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry and electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. He is the author of about seventy-five research papers in the regular scientific journals and of five textbooks, some of which have appeared in multiple editions and in foreign translations.
