Book's Detail
Religion and Human Experience

Andrew Panzarella
This book deals with the quest for per- sonal religion which is evident in the growing popularity of Eastern religions, meditation techniques, and the Jesus movement. Religious questions-about religious experiences and development, about the rejection of belief, about images of God, and about healthful and unhealthful religion-are answered with the information psychologists can provide.

This synthesis of religious and psycho- logical insights reflects the professional and the personal concerns of the author. Andrew Panzarella is both a member of The Brothers of the Christian Schools and a psychologist. He has also taught at the high school and college levels since 1963. As he mentions in his Preface to Religion and Human Experience, the au- thor's experiences as a religious and as a psychologist led him "to emphasize how individual each person is and how dif- ferent religion can be for each person."

Contents: Religious Development: Child- hood to Maturity. Why People Are Reli- gious. Religion and Personality. Mature Religion. Organized Religion.
