Campbell, author of Moral Dilemmas in Medicine (Churchill Livingstone) and of Rediscovering Pastoral Care (Darton Longman and Todd), is a senior lecturer in Christian Ethics at Edinburgh University, and was editor of the Journal of Medical Ethics. Roger Higgs is a general practitioner in South London, and is Director of the Department of General Practice Studies at King's College Hospital Medical School. He has edited the 'Case Conference' series in the Journal of Medical Ethics. Both authors have taught extensively on interprofess- ional courses in ethics.
