<note>Born in Singapore of immigrants from China who made good in the country of their adoption, Yeow Choo Lak grew up exposed to several cultures. Being a Singaporean he is at home with Chinese, Indian, and Malay cultures. Being a graduate of the Melbourne College of Divinity, Trinity Theological College (Singapore), University of Cambridge, Union Theological Seminary (New York City), and the San Francisco Theological Seminary (San Anselmo)-Graduate Theological Union (Berkeley, Califor nia), he is familiar with Caucasian cultures. Thus, he is in a good position to look at Martin Heidegger's philosophy from an Asian perspective

Yeow Choo Lak teaches Theological Studies in and is the Academic Dean of Trinity Theological College, Singapore. He also serves in the Associa tion of Theological Schools in South East Asia and is Area Registrar of the South East Asia Graduate School of Theology. He was the Minister of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Penang, Malaysia</note>
