The Age of Dante surveys the radical changes which occurred in every aspect of Italian life political, social, religious, scientific, and cultural-from the 11th cent the death of Dante in 1321. Such factors as the rapid gr of tovens, creation of a middle class, the struggles of Eunice and Papacy, the novelties introduced by the Crusade d played a payt in the social upheaval of the period.
