Why We're EQUAL
There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus
Galatians 3:28
Using Galatians 3:28 as her scriptural base, Val Webb introduces feminist thought, not as a departure from tradition, but as an affirmation of the early church's commitment to the equality of all believers.
Calling on the principles of liberation theology and process theology, she explores the assumptions about women that still influence us today, offering new insights on how feminism and feminist theology can be transforming for the church and for the world.
Few theologians can weave together history, theology, and biblical studies with such playful clarity and worldly wisdom as Val Webb She invites us to take another look at the dreaded f-word-feminism-and shows it to be directly at the heart of Christian discipleship. Through an astonishing journey from the garden to today and back again, Webb argues that Eve and all her daughters have borne the blame for too much, too long. Why We're Equal provides an excellent introduction to Christian feminism.
