Radical prayer

This series of essays supplements the study of classical modern theologies of prayer published by Westminster Press in 1981 under the title Understandings of Prayer. It discusses the interpreta-tions of prayer in contemporary secular theology, political theology, liberation theology (Latin American, Black, and Feminist), creation theology, and in language analysis. In addition Perry LeFevre provides his own constructive theology of prayer grounded in the conviction that prayer is the primal religious act.

Perry LeFevre has been professor of Constructive Theology at the Chicago Theological Seminary since 1961. He is the editor and author of a number of books, among them, The Prayers of Kierkegaard (University of Chicago Press), and the recent Aging and the Human Spirit (with Carol LeFevre), also published by Exploration Press.
