<note>Modern man senses the dynamism of nature, the reality of time and the possibility of novelty. Out of this experience the process vision has emerged. It was nurtured by the revolution in the scientific world view: through Darwin's theory of evolution and Einstein's theory of relativity. It was formulated by philosophers in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Through Alfred North Whitehead and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin it is having an increasing influence on contemporary Christian theology. The select- ions in this volume present the vision of process theology as it articulates with new vigor and relevance the Christian doctrine of God's involvement in the world, the primacy of love and the relation of Christ to the universe.</note>
