Recognizing that many North Americans regard natural science and biblical teaching as at odds with each other, the authors (respected scientists who are also committed Christians) examine both the historical roots and the present manifestations of the science-versus- Bible tension, critique several of the misperceptions that encourage an adversarial approach, and offer reliable principles that the evangelical Christian community can use in determining what the Bible and science actually tell us about the physical universe and its formation.
