RUDOLF KARL BULTMANN was born in 1884, in Oldenburg, and educated at the universities of Tübingen, Berlin and Marburg. He taught at the universities of Breslau and Giessen, and, from 1921 to 1950, was Professor of New Testament at the University of Marburg. He is the author of many important works which have stimulated world-wide interest and discussion.
