Jesus

Access to good, up-to-date bibliographies can make or break student research, and nowhere is this more evident than in life-of-Jesus research. One of the best sources of information about studies on Jesus is Craig Evans's Life of Jesus Research: An Annotated Bibliography. This larger volume, intended for advanced scholars with its listing of many foreign- language and hard-to-find books and journals, is now presented in an abbreviated version designed speci- fically for beginning students. Each bibliographical entry is annotated and contains information about available English translations of many German and French works. In addition, Evans includes translations of the ancient noncanonical references to Jesus. Indexes of authors and sources conclude the volume.

Jesus is the first volume in a new series sponsored by the Institute for Biblical Research. With Tremper Longman III serving as general editor, each volurne of IBR Bibliographies will annotate 500 biblio- graphical entries, categorized by subjects. Designed to eventually cover the entire Christian canon, in- cluding its major genres, introduction, and theology. this series will provide students and researchers alike with a complete annotated bibliographical guide to the major areas of biblical research.
