Crumpler is a graduate of Wake Forest University (Winston-Salem, North Carolina), Southeastern Theological Seminary (Wake Forest, North Carolina), and Union Theological Seminary (Rich- mond, Virginia), where he earned the doctor of ministry de- gree in 1974.
