RICHARD CARTWRIGHT AUSTIN is a minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with a special vocation in environmental theology. He lives on Chestnut Ridge Farm in southwest Virginia where he grows strawberries, raises beef, and makes maple syrup using organic methods. He writes and lectures in theology and ethics and was a national organizer of the successful effort to enlist federal support to control the strip mining of coal. He has a M.Div. from Union Seminary, New York and an S.T.D. from San Francisco Theological Seminary. |
