<note>As Christians we sing about "Amazing Grace," and vigorously proclaim salvation by grace, through faith alone. Yet, many of us are driven and frustrated, living with anxiety. self-condemnation, and a low sense of worth. Grace is largely head knowledge, a truth we believe about God, but not an experience with God.

This misunderstanding of grace comes from twisted messages of grace what David Seamands calls "dys- grace" - which we receive from family members, from a performance-oriented society, and even from some churches. Dys-grace proclaims that we will be accepted and loved, and will feel worthwhile only when we have deliv- ered a perfect performance. Such a distortion of the bibli- cal message makes it very difficult for us to receive and live by God's unconditional grace.

In Healing Grace, you will learn how to recognize and overcome these troublesome areas of dys-grace, as you ex- perience the liberating power of true grace.</note>
