Christ at the centre

Christ at the Centre builds on the Christological foundations laid by Dermot Lane in his earlier work The Reality of Jesus. In this new book he explores with unusual clarity issues like the Reign of God and the praxis of faith, the Cross and human suffering, the meaning of the Resurrection, the structure of the Paschal Mystery, and the cosmic significance of the Incarnation. In particular, he shows how the person of Christ has something of enduring significance to say to contemporary debates about feminism, ecology and social justice. The overall effect is a lively presentation of the Paschal Christ as the centrepiece of Christian faith and praxis.

Dermot A. Lane is a priest of the Archdiocese of Dublin. He is Director of Studies in Mater Dei Institute of Education and teaches Theology in Holy Cross College, Clonliffe. He is author of Foundations for a Social Theology (1984) and The Experience of God (1985), and is co-editor of The New Dictionary of Theology (1987).
