<note>Throughout this volume - which is written by a young Black preacher and Christian educator, from a Black perspective, and for Black people you will find such issues discussed as: dancing, music, parties, discos, T.V., movies, sports, cards, pool, smoking, drinking, clothing styles, astrology, horoscopes, dating, inter-racial marriage, blackness, the natural hairstyle, social lifestyles, cultural transformation, the Black Church, and Black spirituality.

Black Folks and Christian Liberty is not a "YES"/"NO" book. It is a book of principles. As you read its pages, you will not find a list of "Do's & Don'ts." Instead, each Black Christian young adult is thoroughly challenged to think his/her way through the issues for himself/herself.

This book explores themes related to Christian freedom in First Corin- thians and Romans. Through these Bible passages, the reader is led step by step into the meaning and application of Christian liberty in the Black ex- perience. The careful reader will be able to discover biblical principles of liberation that will equip him/her with the ability to personally evaluate, from a genuine Christian Black perspective, Black cultural and social forms.

Black young Christian men and women who grasp the message in Black Folks and Christian Liberty will be inspired to become actively engaged in the important task of developing and modeling a Christ-centered creative lifestyle that is genuinely Black. It is the author's firm conviction that "as developing Black young men and Black young women, we can please God in everything that we do!"</note>
