Public Vocation of Christian Ethics

These essays on major contemporary ethical issues honoring the work of Roger Lincoln Shinn were written to be used as a course reader for teaching Christian Social Ethics and major contemporary ethical issues to undergraduates, and for introducing a number of problems to an informed Christian public. The focus of the essays is the relation of Christian thought to modern social problems, especially those topics which were of special concern to Dr. Shinn. It contains a valuable, massive, and complete bibliography of Shinn's writings, and a closing essay that analyzes his contribution to the field, including his relationship to Christian Realism and to Reinhold Niebuhr.

The book is organized by topic: The Nuclear Age, The Third World, Racism and the City, Land and Resources, Business and Labor, Tech- nology, and Family and Women's Lives.
