Making Moral Decisions

By exploring the extent to which we are predestined by fate/God/genetic programmes in our lives, this book considers whether there is a common recognition of what one tradition would call 'natural law' The issue that virtually all humans recognise and operate the distinction between good and evil, right and wrong, even though they identify the constituents of such categories differently, is also examined.

Questions raised include: What is the relation of the will of God and/or scripture/revelation to moral autonomy and decision making? How erosive is the fact of sin or of karma? The following topics are covered: grace, works and merit, left- handed tantra in Eastern traditions, issues of cultural relativity; and the recent revival of Aristotle's 'human flourishing in relation to inter-religious programmes of action.
