RELIGIOUS LIFE
Rebirth Through Conversion
Gerald A. Arbuckle, SM and David L. Fleming, SJ, editors
This interdisciplinary workbook represents approaches to the refounding of religious life coming from five different areas: history, theology, anthropology, spirituality and psychology. These approaches were first developed and presented at two weeklong conference workshops sponsored by Review for Religious in July of 1987 and May of 1988. The intent of this book, as it was in the original conference workshops, is to involve each person in contributing to a greater understanding of the process of refounding and thus to enter more readily into the conversion which it entails. Contributors include: John W. Padberg, SJ, director of the Institute of Jesuit Sources in St. Louis, Missouri; David L. Fleming, SJ, editor of Review for Religious; Gerald A. Arbuckle, SM, co-director of the New Research Unit for Religious Life and Pastoral Needs in Sydney, Australia; David Couturier, OFM, Cap, Associate Director of the Office of Pastoral Planning for the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Mary which serves the area of New England and New York; and Sister Patricia Spillane, MSC, novice directress at the novitiate of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Cabrini Sisters) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
