THE PASTOR EVANGELIST

"Do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry, wrote the apostle Paul to the young pastor Timothy Today an exciting spirit is stirring church leaders to take a fresh look at this evangelistic mandate. Acknowledging their own shortcomings, pastors are seeking help in revitalizing dormant congregations and in reaching the lost.

This book provides just the help they need. It brings together the practical wisdom of thirteen pastor-evangelists, including D James Kennedy, C. John Miller, Roger S. Greenway, Edmund P. Clowney, and Bartlett L. Hess. Drawing on years of learning and experience the contributors lay before us a creative variety of ways to share the gospel with others, all within the perspective of Christ's sovereign lordship. In particular, they examine the roles of prayer, preaching, small groups, Sunday schools, follow-up, lifestyle, hospitality, planning, and training in evangelism that is designed to produce growing disciples of Christ

Roger S. Greenway is Executive Director of Christian Re

formed World Ministries. He holds the B.D. and Th.M. degrees from Calvin Theological Seminary and the Th.D. from South western Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Greenway spent four years as a missionary-pastor in Sri Lanka, followed by seven years as a church planter and seminary teacher in Mexico City. Before assuming his present position he was Professor of Missions and Gospel Communications at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.
