<note>Pastoral Administration

Management...

it seems everyone wants to be in on it except ministers. Management ranks in ministry are not full, if by this we mean that ministers put a high premium on the skills necessary to do well in it. Why? For one thing, manage-ment can often mean dealing with "it," with things; min-isters want to deal with "thou," with people. coauthors are not interested in management that leaves people out... The authors are convincing-manage-the ment is a form of ministry. "Ad + ministry" or adminis-tration is ministry. It is not behind the scenes, or prepara-tion, or something to get out of the way, or something to hide. It can be and is an expression of ministry that is part of the whole healing, saving, judging, and enabling process.</note>
