ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Herbert Mather is a staff member on the South Indiana Conference Council on Ministries of The United Method-ist Church. His major portfolios are evangelism, steward ship, and church and society Before coming to his pres-ent position he was a pastor for nineteen years. His three appointments included a seven-church larger par-ish, a suburban church, and a small town congregation. He is the author of Planning a Shepherding Program for Your Congregation, Gifts Discovery Workshop: Leader's Guide, and Gifts Discovery Workshop: My Giftbook, all published by Discipleship Resources.

Mather is a native of Minnesota. He graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul and Drew Theological Seminary in Madison, New Jersey. He and his wife Lillian, have three sons and a daughter. They currently live in Bloomington, Indiana
