Strategy of service

June A. Williams

Strategy e Service

June Williams, a public health nurse, experienced case worker, and church outreach coordinator, offers churches the help they need most as they try to serve the communities in which they reside. Churches know they have been called to help those in need.

But how do you get started?

How do you get organized?

How do you get volunteers?

How do you train them?

The author knows the answers to these questions and she discovered them the hard way. Churches fail to serve because they lack a well-developed strategy of service.

SOS provides a strategy that will enable any church, urban or rural, large or small, to become responsive tor the needs of people around them and demonstrate the love and power of Jesus Christ in the world.

June A. Williams, better known as "Willie", is the Community Mimstry Outreach Coordinator in a large church in downtown Atlanta. She holds degrees in nursing from Boston and Columbia and in theology from Gordon-Conwell and Boston. She has had experience as a nurse-midwife, a public health nurse, a counselor, a teacher, and a social worker, to name only a few. Much of her work has been in large cities such as Boston, New York, Chicago and Atlanta.
