Book by Malcolm A.Jeeves
When a ogist writes on the subject of integrating When a leading internationally noted psychologist psychology and Christianity, readers will take notice.
In Human Nature and the Millennium, Malcolm Jeeves deftly surveys past efforts in the integration endeavor, enriching the discussion with his expertise in the field of neuropsychology. He concludes that integration may not be as fruitful as many have intimated. His challenge to integrationists will certainly need to be taken seriously.
"My basic hope," writes the author, "is that the material of this book will at least enable Christian students and others to reaffirm a commitment to enthusiastic involvement in the scientific enterprise as it is represented in research and practice in psychology and neuroscience."
Notes Diogenes Allen of Princeton Theological Seminary: "Rather than seeking to integrate Christian belief with specific areas of psychology, Jeeves treats recurring themes in psychological writing that imply things about our general understanding of human beings that may or may not be at variance with some of our traditional Christian beliefs about people. It is a masterful study."
MALCOLM A. JEEVED is honorary research professor at the University of St. Andrews School of Psychology. He is a leading experimental psychologist and former president of the International Neuropsychological Symposium. The books to his credit include The Scientific Enterprise and the Christian Faith, Mind Fields: Reflections on the Science of the Mind and Brain. and Psychology through the Eyes of Faith.
