<note>by Fred & Anita Prinzing.

Most parents raise their children without much thought that they might marry cross-culturally. Most children grow up imagining their future spouse as someone of the same skin color. But it doesn't always turn out that way. Once considered taboo, interracial marriages are increasing with each generation.

Fred and Anita Prinzing invite you to join them on a journey to find some answers. Their search began when their son, living overseas, announced that he was dating a black girl. "Let's just say Granddad wouldn't approve," he told his parents. What Fred and Anita had to come to grips with was would they approve.

Mixed Messages is written neither to promote nor to condemn interracial marriage. But the authors believe it is an issue that must be faced by society and by Christians in particular. They deal with issues such as the motives for marriage and the effects on the children of cross-cultural marriage.

Drawing from hundreds of interviews with professionals involved directly or indirectly with the subject, the Prinzings are careful to use the Bible as their ultimate authority. In short, this book contains a wealth of insight for those involved in, or know someone who is involved in, an interracial marriage.</note>
