Some days I really believe that the church is the Body of Christ, his presence in the world. And some days I can't for the life of me see it. This book was meant for those other days when church has become so boring, or so stuffy, or so cowardly, or so ugly that we are ready to throw in the towel and go out and look for God in the woods rather than at St. John's on the Expressway.
