Jesus' teachings in the New Testament do not exclude the necessity for defense and possibly even war.

Many church fathers from the First Century through the Reformation did not condemn participation in military service.

There are scriptural answers to the commonly voiced arguments which promote pacificism as the only Christian response to tyrannical and sociological forces.
