The concept of the World Christian is an idea whose time has come

Many Christian students today want to be World Christians. In this challenging book J. Herbert Kane-veteran missionary, missiologist, and author-tells them how.

In fact, Wanted: World Christians explains the con-cept of a World Christian more extensively than any other book. After giving six characteristics of a World Christian, the author tells the reader how to grow, what to share, and how to live as a World Christian. confesses the Such a Christian, writes the author, "acknowledges the universal fatherhood of God universal lordship of Christ... recognizes the cos mopolitan composition of the church... recognizes the absolute priority of world missions... recog-nizes the universal scope of the Christian mission... [and] recognizes his own personal responsibility for world missions."

The author also establishes that God is lord over the world, describes the world situation, deals with various aspects of the world mission of the Christian church, explains what God is doing around the world, and anticipates the direction of missions in the next century.

J. Herbert Kane is professor emeritus of mission at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has written several books, including A Global View of Christian Missions, Understanding Christian Missions, Chris tian Missions in Biblical Perspective, Life and Work on the Mission Field, A Concise History of the Christian World Mission, The Making of a Missionary, and Wanted: World Christians. Since retiring in 1980 Dr. Kane has been living in Oxford, Ohio, where he minis ters to students attending Miami University. Dr. Kane also continues to write and speak on behalf of world missions.
