<note>W. Frank Harrington

in Frank Harrington, longtime pastor of Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, draws from his experience in and service to the writing this book, a clarion call for a return to the basics of faith in a time of spiritual crisis.

Harrington says that if the church is to not only survive but flourish in the next century, it must return to its primary purpose the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind. To be successful, however, proclama tion must be rooted in faith, and faith has to be lived out in the real world of need, challenge, and evil.

Harrington challenges the church to examine and reconfirm its beliefs to overcome its own spiritual crisis and reclaim its identity and redemptive purpose.</note>
