Believing that the cross is at the heart of the Christian faith, George Carey has written The Gate of Glory to counter the growing trend among modern Christians to "brush the cross aside" in favor of "more relevant" subjects such as the resurrection, the Spirit, and the church. Carey maintains, however, that to lose the cross is to lose everything; to shift it from the center to the circumference of Christian faith is to water down the Christian gospel. |
